A good tip for keeping your plants hydrated is to cover your greenhouse floor with pea gravel, then when watering your greenhouse plants, spray a can full of water over the floor at night. This creates humidity which is retained during the day and stops the plants from ‘scorching’. I leave the door and window open when the outdoor temperature is really high.which helps immensely.

@ LizzieB – I never knew when I was younger I’d be so thrilled with a second hand green house but, once you start growing the bug really bites. Glad it’s up and standing and we don’t have to move it again though!

This made me laugh! We had the same experience dismantling our swing and slide set. Feeling very organised we used the children’s ‘washable’ felt tips to write the labels and lo and behold…..after the weekend’s rain we had lovely white label on every part…..nothing to help us put it back together again though. Ooops. When it came to greenhouse removal we conceded defeat and hired a skip!
